Born in France, grew up in California, schooled at UCSanta Barbara, UCSanta Cruz, and San Francisco State University; formerly a pre-school and elementary school teacher; Parks and Rec. coordinator; wedding officiant; event coordinator; 23 years on Orcas Island. I love the beauty of the natural world, island communities, local food, constant wonderment at how beautiful it all is. I'm here to tell you that marriages can and do work successfully. Kathryn and I met in 1984 and here we are in this picturesque island. I enjoy sharing the awe of the islands with people and collaborating to bring people joy and meaning in their lives. After officiating countless weddings and listening to the stories of so many couples, their families, and guests—I can’t help but be excited by where I live and the honor of marrying people! It is an easy fit to go beyond the officiating role and extend myself to smoothing the path around additional essentials of that day or weekend. After hearing people's stories after the dust has settled and day-to-day lives have resumed, I realized that additional coordination is needed to make things go well.
While taking great delight in the enjoyment of officiating weddings and working closely with couples to create a ceremony that is well received by their family and friends, I'm also enjoying the process of producing and helping with weddings and event planning services. My idea of a good time is helping people arrive smoothly to the islands, find themselves in lodging that suits them, and having a great time while here in this majestic place. Stress-free fun, celebrating family, friends, the natural world, and enjoying local culture with visitors to the islands is my idea of a good time. Being part of the biggest day of people's lives adds a lot of meaning and purpose to my own life.
As an event planner and a wedding planner on Orcas Island, San Juan Island, and Lopez Island (and surrounding mainland areas) I offer quality service with warmth and friendliness. I enjoy solving problems as they arise and being of service to others. What is your vision? How can we help?
